Help! I am traveling to Key West at the end of the month to do a 3 day kiteboarding weekend lesson at Kitehouse and need a few hours lesson in preparation for the trip. Do you conduct private lessons?
Please contact me at khaik@yahoo.com.
I am trying to get some instruction in before the oil hits the Pensacola area.
Thanks,
Kim
You too Mark! Saw you out the other day when I was teaching my friend Sandra and you were riding your flysurfer in Big Sabine Bay. That was one big kite! See you on the water soon. =)
Meagan/Travis/Philip/Neil/Neil's Wife,
Very nice to meet all of you and thanks for the warm welcome. Despite not getting out on the water, the drive out to the beach paid off. Looking forward to kiting with you next time. BRING ON THE WIND!
Probably the cheapest solution is to go to Walmart and buy a Coleman pump in the camping section. They cost around $8 and then you'll have a back up pump as well as a new hose.
I have been to the website you mentioned, but haven't dealt with them at all. The only online repair shop we have experience with is Air Time Kites: http://www.airtimekite.com/. They were great but we only used them because we have a warranty on our Eclipse Kima through Air Time.
The prognosis for Kimo is $$$. But, we just installed some sweet board racks so we can't part with him now!
Yes, we do have hammerhead sharks here which like to come into the shallows and for some reason that one reminded me of a mullet so I'm not getting out of the Gulf anytime soon. Watch out sharks, you aren't the only ones with fins! I think they have spotted some record breakers from the helicopters but this one was hard to see because the water was so churned up. I saw a big fin and a wide body, but I couldn't see it's entire length. Trust me, I didn't stick around too long to get a better look but rather went screaming back downwind. I couldn't believe it, I was SOOO angry because after about 20 passes up and down the beach I was FINALLY about to be out past the breakers. ARGGH!
Skeets,
Hey! It was nice meeting you and your brother. We're glad you were in town to ride the awesome wind we've been having this week. We do have some more photos of you that will be posted to the website soon. Maybe we'll drop by your way sometime and see how much you are enjoying your Underground board. =)
Take care!
Meagan

Tyler,
Hey! It was nice to meet you too =)
Congratulations on your upcoming marriage! That's awesome! We'll be looking forward to meeting Jill.
Glad to hear that you got some riding time. We went out after work and got a HUGE surprise. It was blowing about 10mph S when we arrived and it just kept gradually picking up until it was blowing over 20mph S. Ha! We do love our sunset sessions.
We love our Underground boards too but we are still figuring out the best size and combinations for our kites. Travis is loving the 135 FLX right now.
We'll send you invites to the Facebook Group (Pensacola Kiteboarding) and Twitter (Pensacolakiters).

What's goin on Travis and Meagan
It was great meeting you guys today. Sure wish the wind would have stuck to the forcast, but I guess ya gatta work with ya ya got. I put up my 06 Naish 16m after yall left but with the current and only about 10-11kts of wind it was hopless. It picked up about 45mins later for about 30mins to i'd say around 13kts so I was able to get back on the water with my 09 Royal Solo 13m and 132 FLX Underground. I'v loved that board for a long time i'v been on probably 30 different boards over the years of riding and it's my favorite, i'd call it the perfect board. Well I was able to have a little fun the waves made for some nice kickers. I'll have to introduce yall to my fiance Jill next time i'm gonna teach her soon but were getting married in 3 weeks Memorial Wknd and will be gone for a few weeks. Well it's always great to meet more kiters.
God Bless
Tyler
We're planning to head out to the beach this afternoon for a session. The wind looks like it will hold up. We'd love to meet you out there. I'll send you an email and maybe we can coordinate things.

I am going to be in Pcola this afternoon and Thursday AM. Can I come by and check out the boards? We have a friend that lives in Hawaii hanging out with us this weekend and I was going to bring him..... he left his Underground 134 on the island and I thought he could help us pick out a new board. He says they rock!
Thaks for the information and the link. For this week we are going to be at Big Sabine so our freind can do both Gulf and intercoastal kiting. Hope to see you guys.
thanks
Actually we're the Underground reps for the area so we can give you a great deal on the boards. We have both the FLX line and the Zephyr line.
Here's a link to the website for more info:

First Flag is the first lifeguard flag after Portofino heading east. It's a gulfside spot. For a spot with a huge sandbar, Big Sabine is hard to beat. There is the next cove over to the west. It's a big half-moon cove with a huge sandbar. I don't think you could get the boat in quite as far as Big Sabine though. Here's a link to some of the local spots:

We haven't had a chance to incorporate it into the site yet. It's a good overview of the most popular spots.
We're looking forward to seeing you again. We haven't been out in the boat for so long. It's been one thing or another that's kept us from getting out to Ft. McRee. We'll be out there soon!
-Travis
Travis--- i see you and Meghan out at McRee frequently. I live in Mobile but my sailboat is on Bayou Chico. My gear is Cabrinha and I am wondering about the underground boards. Are you guys selling them or is there a shop in Pcola? I have been buying from XCel Kites in FWB and want to buy in Pcola from here on out.
Also, where is First Flag? I usually am at Mcree or Big Sabine. As i am just learning, I am looking for at least 6 feet of easy access for the sailboat and water that is shallow enough to drag around. What other suggestions do you have?
We were out on one of the sailboats (Cat named SeaEsta) at Big Sabine during the "Epic Weekend" What an awesome specitical that was! Got me really pumped for the season.
thanks - james
Phillip,
Sorry we had to go out of town last weekend but it was Meagan's moms birthday. We did manage to get on the water on Sun. on St. George Is. Had a blast. I was out on the 135 doing full speed, laid out, toeside waterski style carves harder than I ever have. And I felt fully in control. The boards make it so easy. The wind was only blowing 10 to 15 and I was on the 9m Slingshot and the 135. I couldn't believe it. I can't wait for you to try the new boards. Heck, I can't wait to try them. The only ones I've ridden are the 135 FLX and the 138 Zephyr.

Stay in touch and we'll get out on the water soon.

It's full name should be
Kimo the down-winder Chariot!
We need to start planing some down winders because now to get back we don't even have to deflate the struts!
Awesome! Since we found this recipe we've made it numerous times. We've substituted periwinkles/cocina and mussles instead of the clams with great results.
A friend just informed me that the little shells we were stepping on came from some type of planktonic shrimp.
I've also added a photo of them to the photo album above.
Hose for your Cabrinha Pump:

Hey Skeets,
I'll definitely give you a call tomorrow. What time is good for you? I'll be up early. Let me know what time you plan to be at the beach.
