"The Three Hour Knot"

It was a Saturday, and per usual we were late. This resulted in about 20 minutes of good ride time before the wind went poof for us.

It also meant a long walk for me as I let myself drift out into Big Sabine Bay thinking that the wind would come back up at any minute and those silly boys that were already walking back would be sorry as I laughed my way back upwind. So, I certainly didn’t have the last laugh. It was a sauna up in that drysuit with my wool socks and two layers of clothing as I slogged through knee deep water for the last leg back to the shore. When I got back I chugged a water and fought the urge to pour it over my head as I noticed the guys looked mighty cold in their wetsuits. When I finally made my way back to the Gulfside, I inquired on the whereabouts of all the kiteboarders as it had become a ghost town. Stephanie filled me in on what she knew which involved Phillip Ingram missing in action, Phillip Warren on a search and rescue, and the rest of the guys piling into the truck to go pick them both up. Since I am sure that he could tell the story so much better, I’m calling on Phillip Ingram to fill us in on what happened. I did get photographic evidence of the massive knot that resulted of Phillip’s jaunt in the waves. He claims it took three hours to untangle. I don’t know…it looks more like a 2 hour knot to me.
