"It's still winter here."

Yes, it’s still winter here. We’ve been burning through the hot tea and the calories in the Arctic blasts at the beach.

I think that we have scored more winter sessions this year than last and I totally attribute that to our gear. It’s just so fun to ride. Travis had his most epic session ever a couple of days ago. Unfortunately, there is no photographic evidence of this because while he was shredding Gulfside, I was practicing Soundside. I can’t wait until I’m out there with him on days like that. A lot of people don’t realize it, but the Gulf of Mexico gets mean! I took the straps off of my Freewave again today and was just lovin’ it. The 5’4 paired with the 6m Airush Lithium were my ticket to several hours of fun. I found myself trying to surf the small wind-driven swell in preparation for the big days in the Gulf. Ultimately, I was working on switching my feet. It can be a challenge, but when you get it everything starts to flow. We’re all still having a blast, but I think I speak for all of us when I say that we’re sick of this cold weather. We’re ready to say bye bye to hoodies and gloves, and hello to warm water and sunshine! The photos posted in this album are from two separate sessions at Chicken Bones during chilly North wind weather.
